I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I along with my lovebird Echo I also have a painted turtle named Paprika (named for the movie not the spice). Because she is semi-aquatic I have to listen the sounds of the filter 24/7. For the most part it's not too bad, I can't really hear the motor, I just hear the running water and that's only really bad whenever the water starts running low.
