My Not Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! Man it feels good to get back into the blog world. I've had myself offline lately just enjoying time with family and friends. But now I'm back, and I've noticed a ton of resolution blog posts.

I don't do resolutions. Any time I've ever tried to make resolutions I haven't followed them. I'm hoping that calling them something different will help motivate me to do them. So I've created some year goals instead.

-> Love yourself. This was pretty much my mantra last summer. I tend to be one of those people that care more about everyone else and think of myself last, if at all. And when I used to think anything of myself it was never anything nice. Over the summer I allowed myself to actually love myself and get some confidence. I don't really consider this as just a year goal, but I put it in as a reminder.

-> Get (and stay) organized. I have this habit of going on these huge bouts of organizing everything and I usually attempt and fail. Even when I do get slightly organized it tends to fall apart. I recently bought some stuff in an attempt to stay organized and I'm really looking forward to using them.

-> Lose weight/get fit. At the same time during the summer when I was teaching myself to care for myself I was also accomplishing in trying to lose weight. I had dropped down from 157 to 135. Then we went on vacation and I lost track of all of that. I'm back up to about 142 and I'd like to get down to 130. I'm also incredibly unfit. I'd really like it if I can at least get myself to run a mile straight. The best I've ever come is almost half a mile. It's really kind of pathetic.

-> Walk three hours a month. This coincides with the whole getting fit/ losing weight thing. I don't walk as much as I'd like to. In other words, I hardly ever walk. This is really bad since I need it and so do our dogs. I also love it whenever I do go on a walk. I love just going around town especially when it's not busy. Or walking down the road just listening to the sounds of nature. Plus I figure three hours are easily accomplishable.

-> Get license and job. This is one thing I've really been needing to do and have been wanting to do. Seriously I'm almost 21 and I've never had either of these. I have cleaned a store and worked under the counter at another store and I've babysat. But I've never had a legit job. It's all really pathetic I know.

-> Go on an adventure. Whether this is going to some new town or investigating our woods. I want to get out of the house and go on an adventure!

-> Do a photo challenge. This past year I did a photo a day challenge in October. It was kind of stressful and I didn't get to use my actual camera as much as I'd have liked to. I want to do at least one different photo challenge of some sort. I think I have an idea of what I'd like to do but it's a secret for now.

-> Do more creative things. I have a habit of getting all excited about things and plan to pick up new hobbies and then I get all of the stuff and it just sits somewhere in my room. I'd really like to actually use those things and do stuff with them. Maybe I'll sit down and really start to crochet, or maybe I'll make stuff with clay, or maybe I'll pick up painting. I don't know what I'll do but I just want to let my creativity pour out.

-> Blog! Blog! Blog! Last but not least I want to blog more. I love it, I really do! Out of any hobby I've ever done I've stuck with this one the longest. I really really enjoy it, and I love the community that is the blogging world. I don't post nearly as often as I'd like. I'm hoping with getting organized I can start planning ahead to get posts done.

I can't wait for the journey that is 2013! Do you have any goals or resolutions that you've set for yourself? I'd love to hear them! And good luck!

    1. Yeah the last one I did was by FatMumSlim. I have a different idea for one that'll most likely take place in the spring or summer. It's not going to be as difficult as reminding myself to take a photo every day.
